Load the MechanoChat Database

Parameters:

species – Species of the database. Choose between ‘mouse’ and ‘human’.

Returns:

  • df_stiffness (pandas.DataFrame) – A pandas DataFrame of stiffness genes. Column: ‘Symbol’.

  • df_adh (pandas.DataFrame) – A pandas DataFrame of adhesion ligand-receptor pairs, taken from the ‘Cell-Cell Contact’ subset of CellChatDB. Columns: ‘Ligand’, ‘Receptor’, ‘Pathway’, ‘Type’

  • df_IonTF (pandas.DataFrame) – A pandas DataFrame of Mechanosensitive genes. Columns: ‘Symbol’, ‘Alias’, ‘Type’, ‘Evidence’.

  • df_lr (pandas.DataFrame) – A pandas DataFrame of Mechanosensitive ligand-receptor pairs, taken from the ‘Cell-Cell Contact’ subset of CellChatDB. Columns: ‘Ligands’, ‘Receptor’, ‘Pathway’, ‘Type’
