mechanochat.tools.contact_analysis(sem: SEM2, cid_list: ndarray[Any, dtype[int64]] | None = None)[source]#

Build the cell triangulation used for contact-level mechanics.

Wraps the elements of the selected cells into a cell_tri_dev object and computes the cell shapes, which yields the contact edges and the per-edge geometry that plotting.contact_plot visualizes.

Parameters:

sem – SEM2 object after compute_force().
cid_list – Indices of the cells to include. Default: all cells.

Returns:

ctri (cell_tri_dev) – Triangulation object with .cell_boundary computed.
